Carabinero Prawns

Prized across Europe, particularly in Spain and Portugal, giant carabinero prawns have a deep scarlet color and a rich, robust flavor. Sauté or poach them simply, or make them the signature of a show-stopping paella.

The striking color is present when the prawns are raw and doesn’t fade in cooking. The meat is in the tail, but the heads are valued for making flavorful broths and soups.

Sold whole in 14.1oz (400 g) packs, approximately 8-12 whole prawns, vacuum-packed and super-frozen

Origin: Mozambique (wild)

Limited Catch products are a selection of unusual and seasonal offerings. Quantities are limited, so if you see something you like, catch it while you can.
