These prawns are best pan-fried or grilled. When adding to dishes like risotto and paella, add prawns last to avoid overcooking. Once cooked, the flesh is white though the middle of the prawn.

SAFE HANDLING — Keep frozen until ready to use. Remove from packaging and defrost in the refrigerator 8-10 hours before use. Do not defrost at room temperature. Once defrosted, do not refreeze and use within 3 days.

Australian King Prawns

Australian King Prawns are an eye-catching treat. The pristine, cold waters of the Antarctic Ocean give these prawns a distinctive flavor. Their sweet, delicate and firm white flesh will shine in a variety of dishes.

Try them pan-fried or on the grill. King prawns would make a great addition to pasta, risotto, paella, and stir-fry.

Western King Prawns (Melicertus latisulcatus) are caught in the Spencer Gulf in South Australia, and Eastern King Prawns(Melicertus plebjus) are caught from Harvey Bay in Queensland.

Sold in 200g trays of approximately 17-20 peeled, deveined and tail-on prawns, vacuum-packed and super-frozen

Origin: Australia (wild)
