With a more delicate flavor than salmon, ChalkStream Rainbow Trout has a ruby-red flesh and well-balanced fat content. Cold smoked trout is thin sliced and the more common style in the US (like what’s typically served on a bagel). Hot smoked resembles a baked fillet of trout, with an added salt cure and smokiness. Add to a salad, flake it onto bread for an open-faced sandwich, or mix it into a pasta dish.
SAFE HANDLING — Keep frozen until ready to use. Remove from packaging and defrost in the refrigerator 8-10 hours before use. Do not defrost at room temperature. Once defrosted, do not refreeze and use within 3 days.
