Ordering & Home Delivery


Yes, if you've already placed an order, you can add to it by placing a second order and using code: ADDON at checkout to avoid an additional delivery fee. Items can be added to your order until the midnight order cut-off the day before they go out for delivery, shipping or to a pickup location. 

ALL orders are final sales. If you need to make ANY changes to the content of the order, pick up location, or delivery day/method, this must be done the night before. To request a change: email customercare@wulfsfish.com and please be sure to reference your order number. Once orders are packed, we cannot make any additional changes. 

We ship to the 48 contiguous states through the site. Shipping charges, and free shipping minimums, via UPS/ FedEx are calculated by zones. Options for your area will be automatically calculated at checkout. Shipping to Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico by special arrangement.

We may be able to accommodate custom shipping requests, like expedited delivery, for an additional fee. Contact us at CustomerCare@wulfsfish.com Please provide your zip code and a possible estimate of your order in your email so we can get the most accurate custom quote for you.

Currently, our staff is dedicated and focused on buying, cutting, packaging and preparing your orders for delivery. We are not able to set up a Seaport pick up right now.

Local Express Delivery orders arrive next day from when they were placed. If you are receiving your order via FedEx/UPS, orders ship Monday - Wednesday, and you will receive tracking info on the day of shipping. Your order will arrive in 1-3 days. FedEx/UPS does not offer specific delivery times.

Orders are packed in an insulated box with dry ice, gel packs, and a temperature indicator for your safety. If the seafood arrives partially thawed, it is safe to store in your freezer upon receipt.

Dry ice is extremely cold and must be handled carefully.  

DO NOT touch it with bare hands. Use a towel or oven mitt to handle it and put it aside while unpacking your cooler. 

DO NOT eat it or add it to drinks. 

DO NOT store it in a working refrigerator or freezer.  

DO NOT leave dry ice on countertops since the extreme cold can cause damage and cracking to the surfaces. 

DO NOT leave dry ice unattended around children or pets. 

DO allow dry ice to melt and turn into a gas, then dispose of the packaging. 

Safe Handling & Cooking


Properly defrosted super-frozen fish tastes just like fresh. Honestly. We tried it ourselves, and we're really fussy. Remove the seafood from the packaging and defrost product in the refrigerator for 8-10 hours before use. Do not defrost at room temperature. Once defrosted, use within three days. Caviar will defrost quickly at room temperature and may be consumed immediately.

We endeavor to pack all orders to arrive completely frozen, but high summer temperatures can be challenging. All orders that ship via FedEx or UPS contain a temperature indicator so you can rest assured that your order has kept a safe temperature in transit. If the lower box on your card is WHITE, your seafood is safe and has maintained a safe temperature in transit. If the lower box in your temperature indicator card is BLUE, please contact Wulf’s. Your seafood may have reached an unsafe temperature.

Sushi grade is not a technical term. It refers to the freshness and quality of seafood. (For more on what this means, read ourAsk a Fishmonger entry on the subject.) If you've eaten at a high-end restaurant in Boston, there's a very good chance that you've already eaten some of our fish raw in a sushi or crudo. We sell that same quality and freshness to home cooks in our online store. The most important thing to note for consuming raw fish at home is that lots can go wrong in the kitchen! To keep raw fish safe, it must be properly defrosted under refrigeration. You must keep the seafood scrupulously cold and all surfaces that come in contact with the raw fish (knife, cutting board, countertop) clean and sanitized to avoid cross-contamination. Some find this too stressful and decide to leave raw seafood prep to the professionals. Some home cooks are prepared for the challenge, and safely enjoy sashimi, poke and ceviche at home.

Frozen Seafood


All orders for Home Delivery have been individually vacuum packed and super-frozen. We do this because we believe it’s the best way to give you the highest quality product, preserved at peak freshness and available on your schedule.

Frozen fish gets a bad rap because the fish that is often frozen wasn’t that great to begin with, but if you’ve eaten sushi, you’ve eaten previously frozen fish. Many states legally require that fish be frozen before being served raw to eliminate any potential parasites. Top sushi restaurants are serving great fish that’s been previously super-frozen just like we do it.

Freezing seafood with a specialized commercial blast freezer and freezing it at home give very different outcomes. Our process is called “Super Freezing” this freezes fish quickly and to a much lower temperature than a conventional freezer, and the taste and texture of the fish are impeccably preserved this way.

OK. The way that these freezers work is connected to the way that water freezes within the cells of the fish. As the water molecules within the cells of the fish start to freeze, they move toward other molecules to form specific patterns. When the molecules pull away from the cells, they leave higher concentrations of enzymes and electrolytes that damage the cell walls. If the freeze time is slow (like in a home freezer), this movement can damage the cells much more than it would during a super freeze because of the large size of the ice crystals. When they freeze quickly, the molecules don’t have time to reposition themselves and smaller crystals form. Large clumps of ice don’t develop, and the enzymes and electrolytes stay isolated, causing less damage to the cells.

With super freezing, a thawed product closely resembles the fresh version in taste, color, texture and even the nutrients that are locked in.
