Ordering & Home Delivery

Yes, if you've already placed an order, you can add to it by placing a second order and using code: ADDON at checkout to avoid an additional delivery fee. 

Please send a note to customercare@wulfsfish.com with the order numbers you are combining. 

Items can be added to your order until the midnight order cut-off the day before they go out for local express delivery or shipping. 


ALL orders are final sales. If you need to make ANY changes to the content of the order or delivery method, this must be done the night before your order is scheduled to ship.

To request a change: email customercare@wulfsfish.com and please be sure to reference your order number. Once orders are packed, we cannot make any additional changes. 

Yes! We ship to the 48 contiguous states through the site. Shipping charges, and free shipping minimums, via UPS are calculated by zones. Options for your area will be automatically calculated at checkout. Shipping to Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico by special arrangement. Email customercare@wulfsfish.com for a quote.

We may be able to accommodate custom shipping requests, like expedited delivery, for an additional fee. Contact us at customercare@wulfsfish.com

Currently, our staff is dedicated and focused on buying, cutting, packaging and preparing your orders for delivery. We are not able to set up a Seaport pick up right now.

All orders ship Monday - Wednesday, and you will receive tracking info on the day of shipping. Your order will arrive in 1-3 days. UPS does not offer specific delivery times.

Yes! Making sustainable choices and minimizing waste is part of everything we do and using eco-friendly shipping materials is top of our list. Our Wulf’s shipping boxes and insulated liners are made with plant-based renewable materials and are 100% curbside recyclable with your other paper recycling.  

Orders are packed in an insulated box with dry ice and gel packs. If the seafood arrives partially thawed, it is safe to store in your freezer upon receipt.

Dry ice is extremely cold and must be handled carefully.  

DO NOT touch it with bare hands. Use a towel or oven mitt to handle it and put it aside while unpacking your cooler. 

DO NOT eat it or add it to drinks. 

DO NOT store it in a working refrigerator or freezer.  

DO NOT leave dry ice on countertops since the extreme cold can cause damage and cracking to the surfaces. 

DO NOT leave dry ice unattended around children or pets. 

DO allow dry ice to melt and turn into a gas, then dispose of the packaging.

Subscriptions

If you want more seafood delivered beyond what's in your subscription, it's now even easier to Add On with our new, streamlined interface.

Log on to your account page at wulfsfish.com

Navigate to "My Subscriptions"

Click on the button in the top right of your screen called "Add a Product"

From there you will be able to add an item to be delivered with your subscription. Either search for the item in the search bar or scroll the pop-up menu for items to add. With this new interface, there's no need to add code "Add On" or send a separate note to Customer Care to flag the addition.

You can now add items as one-time purchases or as recurring additions to your subscription. If an item can be added on a recurring basis, the subscription option will be visible on that item.  

You are always free to pause or cancel your subscription at any time without penalty. Log in to your account to update your preferences.

Now it's easy to get all your favorites set to deliver to your door every 30 days, and with just a few clicks.

Here's how you do it:

Shop on our online store as you usually would. Items that are available for subscription will have that option clearly marked.  

Just choose "Subscribe" then "Add to Cart" and continue shopping as usual. All the items you subscribe to in your order will be bundled together into a custom subscription that will automatically ship to you every 30 days. Your credit card will be charged when the order ships out each month.

Shipping will not be charged if your subscription meets the FREE Shipping minimum for your zone. See our shipping zone chart.

Add seasonal items when you want them. Due to seasonality and limited availability, we cannot offer subscriptions on all items, but it's easy to add seasonal specialties to ship with your subscription as they become available.

You are always free to pause or cancel your subscription at any time without penalty. Log in to your account to update your preferences. 

To manage your subscription, log in to your account. (Even if you are a subscriber, you must create an account to be able to manage your subscription.) Once you are logged in, click on “Manage Subscription.” From there you can skip a delivery or make other modifications to your account.

Safe Handling & Cooking

Properly defrosted super-frozen fish tastes just like fresh. Honestly. We tried it ourselves, and we're really fussy. Remove the seafood from the packaging and defrost product in the refrigerator for 8-12 hours before use. (Small items like poke and shrimp will defrost faster while large cuts can take longer.) Do not defrost at room temperature or in water. Flavor and texture are lost this way. Once fully defrosted, use within three days. It is not recommended to refreeze fully thawed product. 

Caviar will defrost quickly at room temperature and may be consumed immediately. Some of our pantry items will not arrive frozen and can be consumed immediately and used within the timeframe specified.  

Orders are packed in an insulated box with dry ice and gel packs. If the seafood arrives partially thawed, it is safe to store in your freezer upon receipt. It is not recommended to refreeze fully thawed product, although that seafood is safe for consumption if it is cold to the touch.

We endeavor to pack all orders to arrive completely frozen, but high outdoor temperatures can be challenging. Seafood that is still cold to the touch is safe to eat, but if you are concerned about your order, please contact us.

Sushi grade is not a technical term. It refers to the freshness and quality of seafood. (For more on what this means, read our Ask a Fishmonger entry on the subject.)

If you've eaten at a high-end restaurant in Boston, there's a very good chance that you've already eaten some of our fish raw in a sushi or crudo. We sell that same quality and freshness to home cooks in our online store.

The most important thing to note for consuming raw fish at home is that lots can go wrong in the kitchen! To keep raw fish safe, it must be properly defrosted under refrigeration. You must keep the seafood scrupulously cold and all surfaces that come in contact with the raw fish (knife, cutting board, countertop) clean and sanitized to avoid cross-contamination. Some find this too stressful and decide to leave raw seafood prep to the professionals. Some home cooks are prepared for the challenge, and safely enjoy sashimi, poke and ceviche at home.

Frozen Seafood

All orders for Home Delivery have been vacuum packed and super-frozen. We do this because we believe it’s the best way to give you the highest quality product, preserved at peak freshness and available on your schedule. Compared to taking a piece of fish and freezing it in your home freezer, super-freezing is superior in every measure of taste and texture. You can read more about this here.


There are also serious environmental benefits with frozen seafood, especially reduced food waste.  Freezing a product at its best means it’s ready when you are and not left spoiling behind a seafood counter or in your fridge. Not letting fish go to waste is the most responsible way of conserving the resource so we can eat seafood for years to come. 

Frozen fish gets a bad rap because the fish that is often frozen wasn’t that great to begin with, but if you’ve eaten sushi, you’ve eaten previously frozen fish. 

Many states legally require that fish be frozen before being served raw to eliminate any potential parasites. Top sushi restaurants are serving great fish that’s been previously super-frozen — just like we do it.

Freezing seafood with a specialized commercial blast freezer and freezing it at home give very different outcomes. Our process is called “Super Freezing” this freezes fish quickly and to a much lower temperature than a conventional freezer, and the taste and texture of the fish are impeccably preserved this way.

OK. The way that these freezers work is connected to the way that water freezes within the cells of the fish. As the water molecules within the cells of the fish start to freeze, they move toward other molecules to form specific patterns. When the molecules pull away from the cells, they leave higher concentrations of enzymes and electrolytes that damage the cell walls. If the freeze time is slow (like in a home freezer), this movement can damage the cells much more than it would during a super freeze because of the large size of the ice crystals. When they freeze quickly, the molecules don’t have time to reposition themselves and smaller crystals form. Large clumps of ice don’t develop, and the enzymes and electrolytes stay isolated, causing less damage to the cells.

With super freezing, a thawed product closely resembles the fresh version in taste, color, texture and even the nutrients that are locked in.
